Non-stinging Margins
Chironomidae
This family includes more than 2000 kinds of non-stinging margins that are small, delicate insects; their males have feathered antennae, a bit like mosquitos in their general features, but Margins have a very small head that may disappear under the first chest ring.
Problems caused by these Margins:
Margins are attracted to the light in houses and streets. They spread in huge numbers on highways near farms. Furthermore, it is difficult to keep them away from eyes or avoid breathing them.
Chaoboridae
This family includes a kind of margins called scales; they have short proboscis, about one third of the length of the chest.
Dixidae
They are sub-species of this widely spread family of margins look like mosquitos in their general features, but the body and veins are free of scales and capillaries. Although the proboscis is prominent, it is prepared for puncturing.
